1. Cajé Coffee Roasters (pictured)
Cajé is the hot and trendy coffee destination in Isla Vista. Whether you’re going for your morning coffee or a mid-day smoothie pick-me-up, Cajé boasts a hip craft menu that consists of coffee with latte art, smoothies and smoothie bowls, bagels, and their top-tier avocado toast. Visit the downtown Cajé location renowned for an Instagrammable presentation of their “coffee cocktails.”
2. Renaud’s Patisserie & Bistro
Renaud’s has the best almond croissants in the game. All of its locations have a breakfast and lunch sit-down menu as well as exceptional to-go pastry options. I particularly enjoy their Montecito location, as it offers an upscale, yet still relaxing, experience for all who visit.
3. Dean: A Coffee Shop
Calling all college students! Dean is the study-spot place to be. Their vibe is like no other, with plenty indoor and outdoor seating options, the friendliest baristas, and superb music choice. My favorite items on their menu are the date and goat cheese toast and blood-orange iced tea.
